Awards
JUVENILE COURT ADMINISTRATOR AWARD
To be presented at such time as may be warranted to an administrator of a juvenile court who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and significant management skills in the development of the service delivery system in his or her community. Membership in NJCSA is not required.
This year's recipients:
James Dedes, Director, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, VA Frank J. Boccio, Chief Clerk of Erie County Family Court, NY
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
To be presented at such time as may be warranted to an individual or organization for outstanding contributions to the juvenile justice system for a lifetime of work in the field of academics or research; for a single event, program, or project that significantly increased applied knowledge or programs in the field; or for outstanding contributions to community-based understanding of the juvenile justice system. Membership in NJCSA is not required.
This year's recipient: Buddy Howell, Criminologist, Pinehurst, NC
M. JAMES TONER NJCSA FELLOWS AWARD
To be presented annually to those persons who have devoted a lifetime of service to the juvenile justice community, juveniles, and their families and for outstanding work related to juvenile justice in the communities they serve. Recipients do not have to be members of NJCSA and can be nominated by anyone in the field. Final decisions about awardees are made by the NJCSA board of directors.
This year's recipients:
Hunter Hurst, III, Director, National Center for Juvenile Justice
James E. Anderson, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Juvenile Court Judges' Commission
NOMINATION PROCESS
Promotional materials related to the availability of these awards shall be distributed to the NJCSA membership, including information in RAPPORT, no more often than annually, soliciting nominations to be submitted to the Awards Committee. The Committee will review such nominations and make recommendations to the Executive Board for final approval. The Founders Award shall be determined solely by the Executive Board. Appropriate certificates of award shall be presented at the annual National Conference.
